Leibish Buys A Quarter Of Diamonds At Argyle Pink Diamonds Tender

Leibish Polnaur bought a quarter of the diamonds at Argyle's record breaking tender. He outbid rivals for 16 of the 62 diamonds, marking the closure of the mine in Australia after 37 year. He named his 2020 tender cache the Pink Sunset Collection in homage to Argyle's last days. A standout is Lot 3, the Argyle Sakura, a 1.84 carat pear-shaped fancy vivid purplish pink diamond. He upped his bids by 20 per cent and more to purchase the diamonds. I hope he does well with his new collection.

An independent study of IBDH diamonds by Perth-based Delta Diamond Laboratory has revealed that a number of diamonds mined within the L-Channel at Ellendate display an extremely rare purple or violet fluorescence. Ellendate fancy yellow diamonds command a premium in the market and are regarded by many world diamantaires as among the highest quality fancy yellow diamond production in the world. Fluorescence occurs in about 30% of natural diamonds and more than 95% of these fluoresce blue, with yellow and green representing just a few percent.
