Sotheby’s has named Joseph Lau Luen-Hung, a real estate investor who owns a 71 percent stake in Chinese Estates Holdings, as the buyer of the cushion-shaped 7.03-carat, vivid blue, IF diamond that fetched a record-breaking $9.48 million at auction which took place May 12, 2009 in Geneva, Switzerland.
