Platinum Guild International (PGI) recently commissioned a study to test the durability and wearability of alloys made of white gold compared to those made of platinum. The study, conducted by German Lab Research for Precious Metals and Metals Chemistry, in association with TechForm Advanced Casting Technology, tested two platinum alloys and four gold alloys. The results prove platinum is the most secure setting for diamonds and gemstones. Must read.
