Michael Gusky Viewpoints

The more a person knows about the value of their gold, the more likely they are to find an honest buyer and get the highest prices for their valuables. So, let's talk about gold. The higher the karat the higher the amount of gold in the jewelry. For instance, 10 karat gold contains 41.6 percent gold while 18 karat gold contains 75 percent gold. The rest are other metals alloyed with the gold for color and strength.

The Nobel Prize For Economics

This year’s Nobel prize for economics has been won by Oliver Williamson (University of California, Berkeley) and Elinor Ostrom (Indiana University, Bloomington). Congratulations! The Nobel committee’s decision is a welcome shot in the arm for research that crosses disciplinary boundaries in the social sciences.
