Ellen Fruchtman Viewpoint

Ellen Fruchtman's views on making price an easy part of the jewlery selling conversation was interesting. Jewelers refuse to be transparent; they refuse to show prices. True. Why do you think the Internet has become so popular? Although online sales represent a small percentage of all fine jewelry sales, the percentage of consumers going online for product research is most certainly not small. True.

Wake up, jewelers. Do the right thing. It's just common sense, really.

I think there is so much to do to clean up the KP. Smugglers are always one step ahead of the law. Who would argue against the importance of respecting human rights today? But the fact of the matter is there are human rights issues in producer countries, in cutting and trading centers and in consumer markets. Thanks Chaim for discussing these issues frankly.
