Tiffany's New Advertisement

I think Tiffany's new ad, Not Your Mother's Tiffany, was disrespectful, ageist, and horrible. Today's teenager is tomorrow's grandpa or grandma. What were the marketing geniuses at Tiffany's thinking when they came up with this commonsense-less slogan? Over to you.

Vince Lombardi Trophy

The winner of Sunday's Super Bowl will walk with the Vince Lombardi Trophy, quite possibly the biggest prize in North American sports. And the trophy, which has been awarded to every single Super Bowl winner since the first game in 1967, is still hand-crafted each year by its original designer: Tiffany & Co.

Diamond Traceability

Tiffany & Co plans to achieve 100% traceability of diamonds and precious metals in the coming years as part of a sustainability pledge it released this week. The retailer aims to track all diamonds weighing 0.18 carats or more to the mine of origin or its suppliers approved mines by 2025. It also plans to trace all gold, silver and platinum to the mine or recycler by 2021, and ensure all key materials for products, packaging and store interiors are responsibly sourced by 2025. The move builds on Tiffany's existing policy of sharing the geographical provenance of its diamonds down to the country of region. Starting in October, it will also disclose where stones underwent cutting, grading, and setting.

Tiffany & Co To Disclose Full Craftsmanship Journey Of Every Diamond

Tiffany & Co is not only informing consumers the place and country where most of its diamonds are mined but also where its gems are cut and set into jewelry. Each pieces's craftsmanship journey will be launched in October, and will apply to all its individually registered diamonds 0.18 carat up. I think Tiffany & Co is uniquely positioned to offer this info since it is vertically integrated. It is something that cannot be easily replicated because of the huge investment and work involved. It is definitely an incentive to buy. I also believe it can convince many customers to purchase a diamond instead of stepping away from it.
