Lucapa Diamond Company Recovers 131 Carat Rough Diamond

Lucapa Diamond Company has recovered a 131 carat, type IIa rough diamond at its Lulo deposit in Angola. The rough is the 29th diamond of 100 carats or more that the miner has unearthed at the site, and the fourth on that scale since the start of the year. Take a look.

A 151.60 Carat Yellow Rough Diamond From Mountain Province Diamonds

The octahedron with exceptional clarity will be among more than 90 special stones available from Mountain Province Diamond's Gahcho Kue mine in Canada for sale in Antwerp. The tender is Mountain Province Diamond's largest offering of gem quality rough diamonds exceeding 10.8 carat to date. I wish them good luck with the sale.

Hats off to Noreen Wredberg of Granite Bay, California, for finding the 4.38 carat yellow diamond sitting on top of the ground within an hour of searching. It's the largest diamond found so far this year at Crater of Diamonds State Park. A lucky day. A lucky discovery.

BlueRock Finds A 58.6 Carat Rough Diamond

BlueRock Diamonds has recovered a 58.6 carat rough diamond at its Kareevlei mine in South Africa. The rough diamond is a D-color makeable---meaning it is suitable for having one large polished diamond cut from it. The diamond has spotted black sulphide inclusions.

Lucara Pink Boitumelo Diamond

Lucara Diamond has recovered a huge fancy pink Type IIa diamond---weighing 62.7 carats---from its Karaowe mine, in Botswana. It was recovered from direct milling of ore sourced from the EM/PK (S) unit of the mine's South Lobe, along with three other large fancy pink diamonds of similar quality---weighing 22.1 carats, 11.17 carats and 5.05 carats. The largest of the four stones has been named Boitumelo, which means Joy in Setswana, the native language of Botswana. Take a look.
