Treated Hemimorphite
Mineral collectors and dealers beware. Currently dyed blue hemimorphite from Mina Ojuela, Mapimi, Durango, Mexico has been sold as natural hemimorphite. The treaters are usng a synthetic blue pigment called Phthalocyanine Blue BN, an organic dye. This dye is stable and difficult to remove. You need Raman Spectroscopy to identify the treatment.
