Created through a collaboration between independent Swiss watchmaker Schaefer & Companions and Japanese new-media artist Motomichi Nakamura, the Grand Art Red Eyes by MOTOMICHI is a luxury timepiece retailing for CHF 4,500.00 (or €4,800 including taxes at select galleries such as La Scène des Artistes in Cannes). Rooted in the philosophical concept of animism, the watch showcases Motomichi's signature visual motif of animated red eyes emerging from the dark, which are individually micro-painted onto the dial by master Swiss artisan André Martinez. Coated in Super-LumiNova, these striking eyes glow intensely in dim lighting, so they appear to look back at the wearer, all set within founder Christophe Schaefer's iconic, sculptural black Solune case engineered to uniquely capture light and angular motion.
