A magnificent necklace featuring 38 jadeite beads emerged as the top performer at Poly Auction’s April 6 High Jewelry & Watches sale in Hong Kong, achieving a final price of HKD 14.4 million ($1.8 million). The exquisite piece is accentuated by a specialized clasp set with an oval-cut, 1.51-carat ruby and a series of multi-shaped diamonds. Despite its status as the event's leading lot, the final hammer price fell short of the initial luxury appraisal, which had estimated the necklace's value between HKD 20 million and HKD 30 million ($2.6 million to $3.8 million).
