The Government of Alberta and Clearwater County are working together to revitalize a 100km stretch of abandoned historical rail line between Rocky Mountain House and Nordegg, transforming it into a commemorative multi-use trail. This developing project honors the region's early 20th-century coal mining heritage and will eventually link regional networks with the Bighorn Backcountry for year-round activities such as hiking, cycling, horseback riding, and off-highway vehicle use.
