Yellowstone National Park is well-known and beloved. Less familiar is its Grand Prismatic Spring---a geothermal pool of unexpected colors caused by various species of heat-preferring thermophile bacteria. This biggest hot spring in the USA and third largest in the world is fed by a crack in the earth from which sizzling water rises more than 120 feet to the surface. Must visit.
