Tribeswomen from the Chin State in Burma have been tattooing their faces for more than 1000 years. The tradition started when women wanted to make themselves less attractive to stop a spate of kidnappings. The last women to have undergone the inking ritual are now elders in their tribe and the unique geometric patters have been captured by Marco Vendittelli documenting the dying art. Take a look.
