Hare to Ke, a former elementary school-turned-guesthouse nestled in the mountains of Miyoshi on Shikoku, the smallest of Japan's four main islands, is a must-visit. It's extraordinary, unfamiliar, yet deeply nostalgic. Like returning to something we have long forgotten. Like returning to nature.
