The Singapore International Gem Exchange, a subsidiary of the Sri Lanka based Ceylinco Consolidated International Pte Ltd officially opened on the 3rd July 2006. This exchange, which will have its headquarters in Singapore, aims to facilitate international trade in precious gemstones between retailers, wholesalers, manufacturers and consumers. Apart from providing a safe and secure platform for buyers and sellers to trade, the exchange is actively involved in sourcing colored gemstones for buyers globally. Its present network covers known sources of colored stones in Australia, Burma, Thailand, and Sri Lanka via authorized representative offices, with plans to extend its reach into the African and South American continents within a year.
