The World's Most Expensive Watches

I think Patek Philippe is a watch collector's first choice. While astronomical price tags often come down to rarity and preciousness, a great story certainly helps.

The Box Logo Collection

James Bogart's Box Logo Collection will be presented as a private sale alongside an online auction of other rare Supreme items at Christie's in New York. The collection, described by the Christies as a holy grail for Supreme fans and collectors, contains 253 different shirts released between 1994 to 2020, the entire course of the brand's history. I can hardly wait to see the results from the auction sale.

First Folio

The First Folio as the book is commonly referred to, is a collection of 36 of Shakespeare's plays that was published by his friends and fellow actors, John Heminge and Henry Condell, shortly after his death in 1623. The massive tome included 18 plays---including Macbeth, The Twelfth Night and Julius Caesar---that hadn't been printed before and would likely have been lost otherwise. The historic collection was purchased by Stephan Loewentheil, following a six-minute telephone bidding war with two other unnamed bidders. Loewentheil, a noted book dealer and antiquarian, is the owner of The 19th Century Rare Book and Photograph Shop in Brooklyn, New York.

The Life And Times Of Stan The T. rex

The fossil was priceless to paleontologists. Now it belongs to an unknown bidder. The sale of one of the world's most complete Tyrannosaurus rex skeletons smashed auction estimates when it was sold at Christie's auction for US$31.8 million. The sale set a new world record for any dinosaur skeleton or fossil ever sold at auction.

A New Generation Of Art Collectors

It's hard to sell art to people who don't know much about it. Part of the appeal of collecting is participating in an enthusiastic community and developing a vocabulary for thinking and talking about visual art. The well-known auction houses are doing the right thing with unique collaborations with experts in different domains.
